Let’s Talk Periods Part 1:Essential Oils for Menstrual Relief

As someone who has suffered from painful periods since her teens, I have used several traditional methods to manage my symptoms. Latterly, I noticed by incorporating essential oils into my period relief toolkit, both topically and through aromatherapy, I noticed it helped with easing my symptoms:
Pain Relief (Cramps): Certain essential oils like lavender, and clary sage have antispasmodic and analgesic properties. These oils can help reduce uterine contractions that cause menstrual cramps. When massaged into the lower abdomen or used in a warm compress, they can ease pain.
Mood Support: Essential oils like clary sage, lavender, and geranium help promote emotional balance and can reduce stress, anxiety, and irritability often experienced during PMS or menstruation. Inhaling these oils or diffusing them in your space can have a calming effect on the nervous system.
Hormonal Balance: Clary sage is particularly known for supporting hormonal balance and may help regulate menstrual cycles. It can also relieve symptoms of PMS, like mood swings and bloating.
Please Note: As with any essential oil, it’s important that you must dilute essentials oil before applying it to your skin, and it's a good idea to check with a healthcare provider before using it, especially if you have sensitive skin or any underlying health conditions.
